HYP is Teaming Up With Home Slice Pizza

We are very excited to announce that HYP will be the benefactor of the 2010 Home Slice Carnival O’ Pizza on November 20th!
BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! Will you come out in support of HYP and volunteer with us?
Shifts include:
• 8:45 – 12:00: Set up crew
• 11:30 – 3:30: 1st shift Games and Booths crew
• 3:00 – 7:00: 2nd shift Games and Booths crew
• 6:30 – 10:00: Breakdown crew
The carnival will be held in the space between Home Slice (1415 South Congress Ave.) and More Home Slice. Each volunteer will receive food and drink tickets to use before or after their shift. Breakfast and coffee will also be provided in the morning for the set up crew.
Special considerations when choosing your shift:
• Game and booth runners need to be very outgoing! Home Slice requested “playful irreverence.” Be loud, engage passersby, and make people play more games and spend more tickets so we can raise more money for HYP!
• If you have any special carnie skills (i.e., face painting, balloon animals, stilt-walking, palm reading, etc) please let us know and we’ll put it to use.

You can also support HYP by purchasing raffle tickets at Home Slice in November, and raffle prizes are being accepted from local businesses!
This is the 5th annual Carnival O’ Pizza thrown by Home Slice to celebrate the anniversary of their opening with an awesome pizza-oriented street party complete with games, competitions, and their quirky version of a carnival midway to say thanks to local patrons and support a local cause. Home Slice intends for this to be their biggest and best carnival yet.
The Carnival O’ Pizza will help raise funds for the 2011 HYP home build.

HYP Presents First Annual Urban Ranch Round-Up

Join us as we celebrate another successful year with HYP Austin and welcome the new board of directors for the 2010-11 year!
More food, beverages, music, and games than you can shake a stick at. . . and the most fun you’ll have at a fundraising event this year!
We’re kicking off the new calendar with an event you won’t soon forget to showcase the new HYP personality and give you a taste of what’s to come. Complete with a mini-bull and Bullsh*t Bingo (as any good party would be), we’ll be kickin’ back a bit and enjoying a casual day of food, fun, and a little friendly competition – all in the spirit of furthering Austin Habitat’s vision of eliminating poverty housing through the power of home ownership.
HYP Austin aims to raise $100,000 annually, providing complete funding for a house each year. This year’s Urban Ranch Round-Up will offer HYP members and non-members alike the opportunity to contribute to this year’s goal.
The event will come to a conclusion just before 7pm, and guests are welcome to stay and watch the game on the big screen.

HYP Happy Hour with Texas Young Professionals (TYP)
Join HYP and TYP for our next social networking event on Tuesday, August 31st, 6pm-8pm at Max’s Wine Dive. Admission is FREE and we will get happy hour all night long! We will be downstairs in Max’s private event space for happy hour priced drinks and appetizers, socializing, and networking.
